things are finally going better at school! i thought i would forever be writing and bitching about how much i hate it (not that i admitted it was hate until i was sure it was over). but, all of a sudden, i like it a whole lot (the term love will be withheld for the time being). the kids are following the rules, helping one another, and generally improving academically. i have a bunch that are even starting to read and write. it's quite different from the upper-el grades, but in a way that i am starting to appreciate. i still get annoyed when a bunch of them start crying about who did what and she looked at him and God only knows... but all in all i love them a lot. they can be the cutest things. the fascination with the world is great too. "ms. k, i just saw a big hole in the woods ::run away to look again and then return:: "and theres an animal in it! maybe a shark!"
