random... weather, hair, its all there

Not a lot has been happening. I've established a routine after four and a half weeks of school. I can pretty much go with the flow, and I know what to expect from the kids. Today we went outside because it was so nice after such a crappy start to the week. Hurricane Frances came through and left a lot of damage. Not anything, really, compared to Florida, but enough to close school Tuesday. Then, yesterday, it was gross out again. It was rainy and just ick. The kids have been a bit crazy. On top of their general hyper/ADD personalities, we got a new student yesterday, and the weather. I'm glad it's a short week.

My cell phone has started ringing again. I guess if you don't talk to anyone you know for long enough they will actually call to find out if you are dead. I realize the phone works both ways, but I was doing a lot more calling then getting called. Not that I'm bitter at all or anything. Marissa called today after recently moving to California. Meaghan called a couple days ago after moving to Baltimore. And Beth called recently too, after moving to Jersey. I'm going to get home to visit and there won't be anyone to visit! It should make for good times when I get a break though. Perhaps I can plan some visits around the country.

I have been going to Bally's the last couple days. It seems to be the cheapest, closest place. I was looking for a community center or a YMCA, but haven't found any. It seems so strange when they are everywhere in Michigan. There were so many choices for work-outs there. Maybe that's due to it being the second fattest state? Well bulk up Georgia! I don't have the money to join LA Fitness or the other million dollar clubs. Bally's has a "deal" right now with a 5 dollar joining fee. It ropes you in for 3 years, though! I'm not sure I will be using the gym in 1 year, let alone 3. Maybe my 50 dollars a month will inspire me to go?

If I ever questioned being born straight or gay, I have a 5 year old student that definitely has gay tendencies. I absolutely love watchnig him. He is hilarious. His favorite color on our pocket chart is pink, and he is best friends will all of the girls. He is the social director of the class, and goes to house keeping everyday. But the best, best thing about him is when he gets on the cell phone. (There are old non-working cell phones in housekeeping) He gets on the phone with his "girl" and waves his little hand around. I knew I loved gay men, but gay little boys are so great too. Gay people are grrrreat!

"Girl, who does your hair. Tell him he does a GREAT job!" to Cristin when she visited the class

I want to get away.
