i tried to add an entry this weekend, but i forgot to offer sufficient sacrifice to the demons of the computerworld. i was therefore shot down. of course, i did get to write about half of a very long entry before any badness came my way. i was type type typing away, and then all of a sudden... frozen. nothing. and of course there is nothing i could do. boo to it.
i had a GREAT weekend though! it started early with cristin coming thursday. i was at a meeting about observations in the classroom, which ended early, after school on thursday. it was very boring and i was worried i would be late to the airport. laura offered to get cristin, but i felt bad that i wouldnt be there. however, i got out early, and her flight was delayed. i even had enough time to come home and grab some food. i knew she wouldnt be eating much and it makes me uncomfortable to pig out in front of her. luckily i got it out of the way. so i got cristin from the airport and we came back to the apt. that night we didnt do too much. i went to bed early because our lovely district decided to have school friday.
friday cristin came to school with me. i had 4 students absent, leaving 14. all day she looked at me like i was crazy for every signing up to teach. i realized how chaotic it may look to someone not familiar with teaching or my kids. i also realized how much i've been enjoying my kids. after school we went to lunch with a few of the other teachers. cristin had a tiiiny salad. she took off all the toppings and ate lettece with a hint of dressing. she is really scaring me. after lunch was another meeting for me. i sent cristin off to play at the mall. we got into the meeting and its a sales pitch. they are teaching us how to better use a literacy program that our school doesnt even use. W! so we leave. i call cristin as she is getting to the mall. she comes and gets me and then we head to stone mountain. at stone mountain we hike up the mountain and then we walk on one of the nature paths. meanwhile i get a call from maggie. apparently she is stationed at a fort in georgia. we are just talking when i ask what she is doing for the weekend. shes not doing anything so she decides to come visit too.
once mags gets here, all four of us go out to dinner with laura's co-worker robyn at the mexican place right by our house. it has good food and great margaritas. im feeling good by the time we leave there. after the restraunt we go out to a bar. its good times although we were practicly attacted by some scary men, and we saw more girl on girl action than most pornos.
more to come about the rest of the weekend.. for now its off to bed.
