So its 7.20 am. i got to school quite early this morning, and have nothing here that needs to be done. i actually got here about half hour ago. i was here less than 12 hours ago for open house. i didnt leave till 8pm after getting here yesterday at 7am. that means i spent 13 hours of my life in this building yesterday alone. butttt today is friday! im very excited about that. and we finally have internet at home. which means, beth will finally be able to stop worrying that i am dead or that i hate her. and you? well you will be lucky enough to hear allll about my life through good old diaryland.
im in a kindergarten class now. i started in the dream class. i had 9 students and was teaching 3rd grade. however, they didnt think that was enough students apparently. so they told me i was moving to 4th grade. the kids in 4th grade are as tall as me, and they know about twice as much about the school. so i decided to ask if i could move to kindergarten instead. i knew they were also looking for a K teacher after 50some students enrolled in the 2 classrooms. they agreed and here i am. at first i really could not stand the fact that my students cant pee without drenching the floor, seat, etc. and that they cant tell me what day of the week it is (october? square? YELLOW!). but now im really starting to enjoy it. they give a lot of hugs and they love to interrupt any lesson with "i love you ms k". i still really wish that i could get through a whole half hour lesson in less than 3 hours, but the fact that they named our fish Zion and Seal kinda makes it all ok. so far my favorite quote was "ms. k, why are you white?" (i have 18 kids, and 18 are african-american).
