puppy babies
loneliness no more! we got puppies. 2 nights ago we applied to adopt two chihuahuas from a rescue shelter. we were talking about how we really wanted dogs and just looking through petfinder pictures. then, it happened. we had to have the two cutest puppies ever. they were so cute and small. they are black and white. i would link to them, but the computer class, CSE 101, that i took at state has not really given me the skills. http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=3155590 this is linden

so far we have been spoiling them with expensive toys and just playing all the time with them. however, they are really not too interested in the over-priced toys, and they want to sleep all the time. this inspires me to be a lazy bum and curl up with them. not good for getting anything done, but my hair does have a certain "i've just woken up" appeal to it all the time.
laura j and i have been doing more stuff getting ready for school. today we got really bad pictures taken for our id badges. we also went to an insurance meeting yesterday to learn about the insurance plans. the meeting was 3 hours long, and i learned NOTHING! it was such a waste. the woman was obnoxious. she kept telling stories of her kids that were neither interesting nor funny. she also kept repeating the same shit over and over. please let me be a homeless beggar before i teach like that. i need people to tell me if i am a bad teacher. if i am, i have no problem going back to school and going for a new major. OR i will work really, really hard to be a better teacher. i hope for the second option. i just really have no self assurance about my teaching ability. i hope this year changes all that. i'm almost sure it's just anxiety over the start of the school year.
prospects of the opposite sex are not looking good. so far i've seen a lot of toothless hollering old men. it's a bit discouraging really. the puppies are helpful for meeting new people though. if i was a boy, i would take them to a park and immediately fill up my social calendar for the next 10 years.
