australia 1
what a summer!!!
i thought camp every year made summer, summer... well apparentla other people have summers too... and (not even fucking with you here) they can be fun, possibly even more fun than camp, if its at all possible...
so i spent the summer in australia. its the nicest country with some of the coolest people. i started there on the 20th of june, 2 months ago. i will not attempt to try to tell you what all went on there for the 7 weeks i was there. but it was goodness. the best part was meeting people that didnt know me. for the first time in the longest time i can remember, i was alone. i knew no one. i couldnt rely on someone introducing me to other people. i had to be myself and just hope they liked me. and surprisingly enough they did, or they did a good job pretending. they even liked the camp voice that lives deap inside me. how strange. they ended up being very, very cool. i really made some of the best friends ever. they are like camp friends. the kind of people you get so close to by spending every second with them. they will be friends forever.
what i saw...
i started in the northern-western city of darwin. this is a city i would want to live in. its adorable. its got some of the nicest people in it. you can go to the bar and meet new people that will instantly be good friends. they are very cool.
then we headed to kakadu national park. this park rocks. im sure it would never be the same if it werent for our guides. they were very cool. we rode in the back of 4wd jeep things. it was the outback in a country where what you HAVE to see is the outback. there were kangaroos just hopping down the side of the road. they are somewhat deer:michigan as kangaroo:outback... very interesting indeed
next we went to alice springs... can you say drab? this town was very boring... and they gave us an entire day and a half off to enjoy it... we couldnt figure out what there was to enjoy there? but i did meet a really cool guy that i spent a couple days with...
then we were off to uluru aka ayers rock. it was a rock. im sure i was supposed to shit a brick with excitement over this rock (especially after 4 geology courses) but i wasnt too interested. it did absolutely no tricks!?! what the hell is what i said. but we did watch the sun set, and then rise there. so it was perty...
then it was off to canberra... aka capital of australia. it was a cool city but it rained both of the days we were there. we went to the parliment house, and the war memorial, and the place where they train most of the olympic athletes. it was fun.
thennnnnn it was SYD-ney. very fun place... i spent 3 weeks there. to tell you a bit of the trouble i got into... in one night there were 3 boys at the bar. all of which were supposed to be there with me, all of which i kissed, and all of which i ditched. yeah i was definitly a bitch on this trip... oh and i have to run... off to see my bros wedding pics. this will be continued later.
